Queens Botanical Garden: Just Opened Fall 2007. Designed to attain LEED Platinum, this 15,831 square foot Visitor/Administration Building features many green products and practices, including: photovoltaic panels, FSC wood, a green roof, and geothermal and graywater systems.
Harsten House: A 16-story, 22-unit condo building in New York that is being built to the standards of the USGBC's LEED program. The project broke ground in winter 2006, with occupancy expected for Spring 2008 located at 120 W 72nd St., NYC
124 Hudson Street Condominiums, NY: A challenge BKSK faced was the location of the site with regard to noise and air pollution. Because the building occupies a once long-vacant site facing the Holland Tunnel, custom manufactured, industrial-scale, sound-insulating windows were installed throughout the building.

BKSK Architects have been establishing themselves as leaders in sustainable building design. High-end residential, multi-unit high-end residential, commercial, institutional and green design.

BKSK has established a specialty in distinctive and appropriate architecture. Similarly the firm seeks to evolve an aesthetic from an analysis and understanding of a project's setting and the client's requirements. Their practice follows their belief that the practice of architecture should encompass the most complete service to the client, dedication to the art of architecture and commitment to the craft of building, and that these goals are, in fact, one and the same.

Queens Botanical Garden is a nexus of botanical and cultural exploration for the most ethnically diverse neighborhood in the U.S., Queens County. This new center is the built extension of the Garden's mission, celebrating sustainability by fully integrating green building principles into the garden experience. The Garden is a LEED platinum candidate, the highest rating available and a first for a New York City structure.

GreenSage was proud to participate in the Queens Botanical Garden project, answering their call to us to find the most sustainable furniture for their outdoor cafe. By using GreenSage as their source, the Garden saved countless hours sourcing furniture and purchased a sustainable product from our Directory — recycled aluminum cafe tables and chairs.
