Outdoor Air Issues
In the first such program in California, and perhaps the United States, Bay Area air pollution regulators are proposing to charge an annual fee to thousands of businesses based on the amount of greenhouse gases they emit. (read on)
With the science community calling for urgent action on global climate change, the next President of the United States need not wait for Congress. According to a study commissioned by the Presidential Climate Action Project, the chief executive has substantial authority to act immediately. (read on)
Building & Construction
In July, Nissan North America is moving its headquarters to a 50-acre green campus with a restored wetland. But Nissan isn’t seeking a seal of approval from the U.S. Green Building Council. Rob Traynham, the company’s director of corporate services, said Nissan preferred to spend money to restore the wetland “rather than have a plaque on the wall.” (read on)
Finding energy efficient schools, supermarkets, offices, and other facilities throughout the country has become even easier for Americans interested in being green. Now they can find the Energy Star not only where they live, but where they work, shop, play and learn. (read on)

If anyone asked you who was the largest home manufacturer in the country you would probably vote for KB, or Pulte, Beazer or Centex, but you'd be wrong every time. Manufactured, or off site building, is the largest segment amongst the 200 segment funds of the NY Stock exchange. Fleetwood Enterprises is the largest home manufacturer in the U.S. In previous articles here in GreenSage Media we have documented the growth in factory building. It will be the default method of home construction of the future.

Insulating Coatings Corporation (ICC) has become a member of the USGBC (US Green Building Council) in efforts to continue to promote sustainable and cool roofing systems. ICC feels that its mission to provide environmentally friendly products that reduce the need for roof tear off and replacement is in direct line with the US Green Building Council's commitment to expand sustainable building practices. Green Finance
Global markets for biofuels, wind power, solar photovoltaics, and fuel cells jumped 40% last year to a total of $77.3 billion. If the current growth rates continue, these four key sectors are expected to more than triple over the next ten years to a total of $254.5 billion by 2017, according to a new report from research firm Clean Edge. Biofuels, wind, and solar were the biggest winners, with revenues topping $20 billion each for the first time last year. (read on)
