A Small and Simple Product Makes Building Green Easy & Less Expensive
With Green building practices becoming more and more important today, builders and remodelers are looking for environmentally friendly construction materials as well as ways to save on energy costs.
The Nailer is one of those small and simple building products that steadily changes the standards in the industry and makes it easy for contractors and suppliers alike to embrace and benefit from green building. It is also one of the few green building products that actually saves money on material, labor and natural resources.
Material Savings: You can save a minimum of $100.00 per 1,000 sq. ft. of living space on material alone. You can eliminate all of the extra wood backing on the top plates and in all of your vertical corners. On hip roofs you can order your jack trusses without the bottom cords.
THE NAILER is a drywall backer/fastener for supporting interior drywall corners in both wood and metal framing. THE NAILER is the only patented drywall backer that hard fastens to both the drywall and the framing, eliminating the need for the additional wood or metal blocking used in most present practices. It is used in both residential and commercial construction.
Traditionally, builders were slow to abandon the practice of using additional blocking or sliders on inside corners and top plates in order to install drywall. It took rising labor and material costs, an acceptance of green building, and even the horrendous slump in the building industry to get many of them to change old habits.
Habitat for Humanity, however, jumped on board early in the 1990s and found THE NAILER the perfect cost saving device their volunteers could easily install, saving them both time and money while helping build a solid and more energy efficient house. Now, many of the large national builders are following suit in order to streamline their own bottom lines.
THE NAILER meets all LEED specifications and replaces the awkward drywall clips that pinch on to the drywall and create safety hazards with their sharp edges. It virtually dissolves call back issues caused by cracking drywall due to truss uplift or shifting soil.
THE NAILER increases thermal efficiency of the wall system since less framing allows for full friction fitting insulation to be installed eliminating hot and cold spots (from thermal bridging through the frame) within the wall system. It reduces blocking time and provides significant savings in labor. In short, THE NAILER realistically offers substantial savings in labor, materials and energy.
Five (5) NAILERS replace one (1) wood or metal stud and are available in 100% recycled plastic or sturdy galvanized steel. Manufactured and distributed by the Millennium Group and available worldwide through drywall and building supply houses, THE NAILER is a small item with a big impact.
