Brightworks is a Portland, Oregon-based sustainability advisory service - our mission is to foster the emergence of a sustainable society. We support sustainable building projects and organizational development and planning using sustainability frameworks.
As of May 2008 we have over 85 active projects in Oregon, Washington, California, Colorado, Texas, Florida, Hawaii and New York. Our projects include some of the highest performance green buildings in the United States, including the first LEED Platinum highrise building, the first LEED Platinum condominiums in the US, and the first LEED Gold certified US Courthouse.
We have near-term openings in our Portland, San Francisco and Los Angeles offices for experienced sustainability advisors. Portland is one of the leading cities in green building and the sustainability movement and those not already located in Portland are encouraged to apply.
Position Overview:
Guide the sustainability and LEED programs for new construction, existing buildings, tenant improvements, and master plan developments. Additional work requirements include research, writing and analysis of sustainability strategies and systems for buildings and communities, facilitation of eco-charrettes and sustainability strategy discussions, and potentially teaching workshops. The job also includes the opportunity to write proposals and engage in business development activities.
Qualifications:
Knowledge and familiarity with LEED and sustainability frameworks. Experience managing 6 or more LEED projects is highly desirable.
Knowledge of how buildings are designed and built.
Outstanding writing and verbal communication skills.
Ability to facilitate and coordinate group discussions with multi-stakeholder groups including architects, developers, general contractors, and mechanical and civil engineers.
Proficiency with Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
Deep passion and personal commitment to sustainability.
Ability to work well with a team: to learn from and share experiences in a learning organization environment.
